The script creates cmdline.txt in /media/boot directory (the directory where the 1st sd card partition is mounted).
Just reboot your OPI with USB drive connected, it should boot to USB drive.
It will look the same (you cloned your cd card), but if you run mount command in terminal, it should show that the / is mounted on USB drive (probably /dev/sda1).
Booting from USB without sd card (or emmc) is not possible (on the sd card is bootloader and u-boot, you can's see them, they are writen to the space before the 1st partition).
I will create the script for restoring the USB backup to sdcard/emmc next week.
The gigabit port is limited to 480 Mbit so you won't get those 90MB/s you want over the gigabit just so you know. I use the LeMaker Banana Pi and the original Orange Pi (both Allwinner A20)

I don't deal with ODROID, they stole my content and published it in their magazine without my consent. Even when I confronted them to make it right they just ignored me so I don't associate with their products. There will be better boards from other companies who have USB 3 and gigabit. ODROID have old kernels as well (3.10) and that is just not good enough for me.

You have the right to be angry at someone who did something wrong to you, but I don't think this is the right place to express that anger, especially using that kind of language.
It only tells something about yourself.
